Adult Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP)
Adult PRP services are available to those individuals who are 18 years of age and older, who are receiving mental health services from a physician or licensed clinician, who have or are eligible for medical assistance, and who meet criteria for a priority population mental health diagnosis. Services are offered in multiple settings/combination of settings in order to best meet the needs of the client (i.e. onsite day program, offsite outings, in-home, etc.). Following a period of assessment which evaluates client strengths and preferences, individualized rehabilitation goals are implemented.
Target areas may include but are not limited to the following:

Development of natural supports through increased opportunities for socialization

Connection to community resources

Navigation of the entitlement system (i.e. SSA, DSS, local housing agencies)/Case management

Advocacy
-
Life skills training (i.e. grooming, hygiene, nutrition, dietary planning, budgeting/money management, self-administration of medication)
-
Development of crisis management and wellness self-management/recovery related skills
-
Assistance with scheduling and maintaining appointments
-
Coordination of care with other providers/treatment team members (i.e. therapist, psychiatrists, PCP, substance abuse providers, specialists)
-
Mobility skills training (i.e. assistance with applying for various forms of reduced cost transportation, assistance with understanding the bus system, etc.)

Other areas of need as identified
WHO IS ABLE TO RECEIVE PRP –
- Have a mental health diagnosis that meets the priority population definition as determined by the Mental Health Authority.
- Enrolled or eligible for Maryland Medical Assistance Program.
PSYCHIATRIC REHABILITATION PROGRAM FOR MINORS (PRP)
Child and Adolescent PRP services are available to those individuals who are 5-17 years of age, who are receiving treatment from a physician or licensed clinician for a mental health diagnosis, and who have or are eligible for medical assistance. Services are offered in combination of settings in order to best meet the needs of the client (i.e. onsite afternoon/evening program, offsite outings, in-home, etc.). Following a period of assessment which evaluates the individual’s strengths and preferences, the rehabilitation counselor will work with the client and his/her parent guardian to implement individualized rehabilitation goals.

Anger management techniques

Community awareness/safety

Advocacy

Education

The Outpatient Mental Health Clinic (OMHC)
Our services at the OMHC level are designed to promote mental health and improve functioning in children, youth, adults, and families. In addition, our services are tools used to effectively decrease the prevalence and incidence of mental illness, emotional disturbance, and social dysfunction. The responsibility for diagnostic and treatment services is vested in a multi-disciplinary team comprised of psychiatrists, licensed social workers, licensed professional counselors, marriage and family licensed therapists, public health educators, and other mental health professionals. Our services at Step of Faith include but are not limited to:
- Diagnostic Evaluation
- Psychiatric Evaluation
- Family, Group, and Individual Therapies
- Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program
- Medication Management Services
- Crisis or Emergency Interventions
